English question: I put it to you that you were angry at the defendant and you wanted revenge, and that’s why you made this spurious allegation.

LOTE answer (English gloss): No…No…It’s not like that. I don’t hold a grudge against him, why would I do that? That would only damage my reputation and make... make... make me feel ashamed. It would only cause harm to me without any benefits.

English question: You claim to have been physically present at the premises where the alleged assault took place. So, what were you doing there? Are you a voyeur?

LOTE answer (English gloss): What? Voyeur? Me? Aren’t you talking nonsense? No such thing! Fucking bullshit! Rubbish!

English question: You mentioned in your first statement that the accused held a knife against the complainant, but then in the statement you gave to the prosecutor you said that the knife was pointing at you. If it was pointing at you, why wasn’t that mentioned in your first statement?

LOTE answer (English gloss): Why did you say it wasn’t mentioned? I did mention it at that time! I don’t know what you guys were doing and why would that be missed? I mentioned it so many times! In my opinion, the interpreter wasn’t doing a good job and was very inexperienced. I’m not surprised that there were so many errors in the interpretation.

English question: You have been spreading bad rumours about the defendant on social media, haven’t you? How long have you had this gripe against my client?

LOTE answer (English gloss): We hold no grudges against each other, why would I spread bad rumours? You think I have nothing to do and just sit at home and eat all day?

English question: Is it not the case that you never asked her about whether or not she wanted sex?

LOTE answer (English gloss): Like her? Who would want to get her into bed? Not to my taste. She’s not voluptuous and I wouldn’t even be interested if she came to me.
