English question: I put it to you that you were angry at the defendant and you wanted revenge, and that’s why you made this spurious allegation.
LOTE answer (English gloss): No…No…It’s not like that. I don’t hold a grudge against him, why would I do that? That would only damage my reputation and make... make... make me feel ashamed. It would only cause harm to me without any benefits.

English question: You mentioned in your first statement that the accused held a knife against the complainant, but then in the statement you gave to the prosecutor you said that the knife was pointing at you. If it was pointing at you, why wasn’t that mentioned in your first statement?
LOTE answer (English gloss): Why did you say it wasn’t mentioned? I did mention it at that time! I don’t know what you guys were doing and why would that be missed? I mentioned it so many times! In my opinion, the interpreter wasn’t doing a good job and was very inexperienced. I’m not surprised that there were so many errors in the interpretation.
